In this webinar, Jennifer Carson and Al Power discuss their recent literature review of risk factors for COVID outbreaks and deaths in long-term care with an eye toward the future. In addition to examining the impact of the pandemic, including the harmful effects of strict quarantines and social isolation, they also outline factors that differentiated some homes from others in their COVID experience, highlighting the recent Green House COVID study. Based on the available research, Jennifer and Al show that many recommended culture change components provide significant advantages over traditional models of care during a pandemic and suggest ways to continue safe and meaningful engagement throughout the upcoming holiday season.
